#445417 What I mean is how accurated must a carmodel be?

And how much are we willing to spent on it? And how did the original really look?
Restored cars can be different from when it came out of the factory. Photo's from the 40, 50 and 60's are mostly bad quality or akward angels.
There is a big difference in CMC scanning the Lancia D50 and spending a lot of money on it or a model created with a drawing program on a computer based on pictures let alone handmodelled masters.
What I expect from a model is in relation to the price. In my collection I have a die-cast Ferrari 430 from BBR and one from Elite. The BBR costs more then double the Elite. So the BBR must be much better then the Elite in some way or form. Shape, paint quality or details are some of those criteria. Looking at resin models from BBR, Looksmart, Tecnomodel, and CMR, your are looking at prices in Europe 400 euro for a BBR, 200 to 250 euro for Looksmart and Tecnomodel and around 100 euro for CMR. You simple can not expect them to be the same. Somewhere there must be a cut in the money spent.
And do we really see a flaw in a model when it is displayed? Is it obvious? And do you exept a flaw when the price is less? Or otherwise: are you willing to spent more for a model without a flaw? I am willing to accept things like a plastic disk as a brakedisk or not so nice wirewheels as long as the overall shape is is looking in proportion and is recogniceble. Personally I think that really wrong models will not be bought and that will force a manufactors to make scalemodels as accurate as they can for a acceptable price.
