collectors....again, here's my take on this model. First... I will definitely not be buying one.
For me....the price is about the best thing with this one. Shape is ok, but not great, and looks off when viewing side profile, and nose looks bad as well - noticeably around headlights. Interior is especially weak - toy like. 1:18 models have better interiors, and so do some 1:43rds! From a historic standpoint, this model also has various mistakes - inaccuracies. This is all from just a 2 minute look over. The rear scoop and shape behind the rear wheel is off, but wheel opening all around seem good. Diamond quilting on shelf under rear window is wrong. That was Not how any of these cars were originally built. Some have had that retrofitted over the years, but did not originally race that way. Overall detailing is very poor.
GT Spirit should stay with what they know best....modern sports and supercars, and tuner Porsche's. Not historic models, let alone cars like the 250 GTO. They did a surprisingly good job with both their Aston Martin DB5, Jaguar E Type, and Mercedes 300 SL Roadster, but their previous 365 GTB/4 Daytona coupe was a lousy model, and now their GTO is not good. Maybe this is due in part to their business design of low (cheap) prices and fairly high volume production. Low price = simple models and corners cut on accuracy.
It is just overall a so-so model, offering less detail than that of many smaller scale 250 GTO models, but if you want a big and cheap 250 GTO model I guess this one will do, but I would rather spend more and get a good product.
