There are no legal requirements that say that model manufacturers have to produce run of the mill vehicles.
KKs can do whatever they like, it's a free market.

And AFAIK someone behind these models at Modelissimo and KK owns a 72 in this spec, so they measured this personal car.

I was surprised to see the change in bonnet length already on the 72, including smaller fliplights.
Never noticed this.
I was aware that the power-strangled chrome bumper delete cars from 73/74 onwards have longer bonnets and got rid of the funny wiper flap.
(These cars still look awesome for me, though.)
