New resources for the Scale18 database! Bring on the new data.

Since 1997 I have been building the Huge List as the ultimate collector's reference to 1/18th Scale diecast. As the years flew by and I got out of collecting, I knew that I didn’t have the time to keep the database up to date.

It’s for this reason that I’m so excited to announce that we will be partnering with hobbyDB to provide a one of a kind, up to date reference site for all 1/18th scale diecast cars. We’ll be working together to ensure you have the data and tools you need to help you manage your diecast collection.

What does this mean for scale18.com?

Your account will remain exactly the same and every part of the site not connected to the database will remain as it is,i.e. the message board will continue to work as it always has.

The one change that you will notice is that the Scale18 database will now be powered by hobbyDB. So, when you conduct a search or use the quick browse, you will be redirected to hobbyDB.com to see your results. On hobbyDB, you will now be able to see even more about your favorite models, including -
Much bigger images
A gallery view with more detail than ever before
Background info on each model
And a link to the actual car, when available

As an extra benefit, on hobbyDB you’ll get access to a bunch more collection management tools for free. These include –
Adding an item to your virtual collection
Adding a desired item to your wish list
Buying an item that is for sale in the hobbyDB marketplace
Selling an item in the hobbyDB marketplace
