The #6 car at Le Mans was indeed the original Coupe, made in California and did have different bodywork from the other five that were built for Shelby in Italy. It did indeed have a different windshield because it had a flatter hood. Shelby had Dan Gurney check in on the first Italian build and they ended up increasing the hood height to accommodate Dan which also changed the windshield.

Interestingly, the cheap Yat Ming Daytona Coupes have the more accurate windshield and hood but only for the original Coupe (CSX-2287) which they never made a model of - go figure.
