#464474 Yup. Diecast for me was Hot Wheels as a kid in the 1960's.
Then, I discovered 1:43 in a hobby shop in Atlanta in the early 1980's. They carried Brumm, and Solido. Then, more 1:43 from a specialist shop in Atlanta. (Tron, Newcon, BBR, Ampersand, AMR, CAM, Starter, Provence Moulage, plus others) My first 1:18 was the Bburago F40. IIRC, I first saw it in DED, Jr,s Automoblie magazine, where it was hailed as a quantum leap forward in quality, bridging the gap between "toy" and "collectible." In period, there were several transkits available to take the Bb F40 to the next level, but were eye-wateringly expensive. I still have a soft spot for that old F40, the car that, in the end, has cost me many tens of thousands of dollars!
