#465509 Craig, one question. On August 29th the De Minimis $800

exemption will be suspended for all countries. This is text from the executive order: "the duty-free de minimis exemption provided under 19 U.S.C. § 1321(a)(2)(C) shall no longer apply to any shipment of articles not covered by 50 U.S.C. § 1702(b) [enumerating narrow exceptions, such as for donations, informational materials and transactions ordinarily incident to travel] regardless of value, country of origin, mode of transportation, or method of entry"

The article I read about this also had this to say: "Couriers such as FedEx, DHL, and UPS have to apply this order immediately on and after August 29, 2025. Meanwhile, international postal systems get a 6-month transitional period until February 28, 2026, during which time US Customs and Border Protection can charge a flat duty per item, ranging from $80 – $200, depending on the country of origin."

Here's a link to the full article: Link

So it sounds to me like we're on borrowed time. Do you think coding the item as "scale model car" will still exempt it from tariffs and processing fees after August 29th?
