I agree about trying to make a model as close as possible to how it raced. With this car there are a lot of options. The restored 1:1 seems to have put almost every decal the car ever used on it. I couldn't find a period image of the 1:1 decorated like that.

As far as filling the channel under the street windshield, I found a really good putty for that purpose. The bad news is that I found it after I used a much harder to work with putty on my first Solido 427 project.
