#466128 I must live in an alternate universe
Posted by Frank Lemire on Monday Dec 01, 2025 at 08:03PM
The following is the write up for the Spark 1969 Sebring winning Ford GT40 model on the Mint Models web site.

'The Ford GT40, car number 22, clinched a thrilling victory at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1969, driven by the talented duo of Jackie Stewart and Graham Hill. Stewart, a three-time Formula 1 World Champion known for his finesse and speed, teamed up with Hill, another racing legend and a two-time F1 champion, to dominate the grueling endurance race. The 1969 Sebring was particularly unique due to its challenging weather conditions, with rain affecting the track's surface and testing the drivers' skills and strategies. The race showcased the GT40's robust performance and durability, which had been honed over years of development and racing. This victory not only highlighted Ford's commitment to endurance racing but also underscored the GT40's legacy as one of the most iconic sports cars in motorsport history. The combination of the drivers' expertise, the car's engineering excellence, and the demanding Sebring circuit made this win a memorable highlight in the world of endurance racing.'

In my universe Jackie Ickx and Jackie Oliver were the drivers of this car. I did send my friends at Mint Models a heads up and hope the one they send me is the Ickx/Oliver car and not the Stewart/Hill one
