In general, if I ordered the wrong model by mistake I'd re-sell it rather than return it unless the model I received wasn't as described and the differences were significant.

Shipping damage is a harder one for me to deal with. A lot depends on how bad the damage was, how well it can be fixed, whether it was new or a hard to find used model, how well it was packed and whether or not there was obvious damage to the shipping box.
