Maybe oddly, but I never craved to drive or own a typical rear engined Porsche.
Perhaps traumatized because of a youth spent in Beetles.

When the Boxster came out I owned the 968 and went for a test drive.
Well, good handling, otherwise I didn't had any interest in it.
Hoover sound, and no grunt.

The tested before SLK was ok, sober fun but also boring and soulless, like a topless two-door sedan.

Went on to buy the nutty MZ3 M Coupé then... much more costly, technically primitive, awkward looks but so much more exciting than both the others.
AND more practical.
