The body is the largest part of the car that is made in die cast metal. Die casting is a manufacturing process for producing accurately dimensioned, sharply defined, smooth or textured-surface metal parts. It is accomplished byforcing molten metal under high pressure into reusable metal dies. The process is often described as the shortest distance between raw material andfinished product. The term, "die casting," is also used to describe the finished part. Injection Molding is a repetitive process in which melted or plasticized plastic is injectedor forced into a mold cavity where it is held under pressure until removed in a solid state,basically duplicating the cavity of the mold Aside from the diecast metal body, the majority of the remaining parts of these model carsare made from injection molded plastic. This includes the interior, engine, chassis, suspensionand other trim items like headlights, door handles, wheel rims and antennas. Tampo Painting (Pad Printing) A 5 color pad printing machine, a car body painted with pad printing. Tampo painting or pad printing as it is more commonly known is mainly used instead of decals because decals then to wrinkle on curved surfaces. Some cars use a combination of tampo printing and decals.
